George Galitzine
George Galitzine
was born in 1946, the son of a Russian prince and an Austrian baroness, growing up in London and Ireland. He graduated from Oxford, studied etching in Paris, and obtained a degree in printmaking from the Central School of Art, London. After 18 years in the film business, he has been painting full-time since 1996. A frequent visitor to Jamaica since the 1970's, his fascination with 'home-made' houses documents the small houses, shops and bars that are part of our disappearing heritage. He lives and works in the Fulham area of London.
